While the year 2020 has kept us apart to some degree from our familiar communities, it has also seen the birth of a “community of communities” for Anglican religious: the Anglican Benedictine Confederation.
Abbot Michael-John and some other members of the House of Initia Nova have attended initial Zoom meetings and virtually met those from other communities who have also taken part in this new venture.
The aim is not to create an authoritative superstructure but to find ways to share and support one another, starting with simple recognition: a look at the Anglican Benedictine Confederation’s cycle of prayer can send one to the internet to look up the many communities, especially dispersed ones, that have formed for those called to religious life in an Anglican community.
As the Confederation continues to form and find its calling, our blog will include reflections and more information about its meetings.
